Geotechnology, Inc. is a highly respected, professional engineering and environmental services corporation with 10 office locations supporting operations across the United States.
We spoke to geologist, business development associate, and seasoned CPT operator Luke Ducey about Geotechnology Inc.’s site investigation activities using the Vertek CPT Track Rig.
What Vertek products do you use and what do you use them for?
Our site investigation projects run the gamut from assessing the stabilization of existing structures to assessing deep foundations for new infrastructure projects. For the last eight years or so, we have operated Vertek’s 20-ton tracked rig for jobs requiring CPT.
What are the benefits of CPT?
CPT is unmatched for ease of use, safety, and efficiency. For example, a recent job that would have taken 2-3 weeks using SPT, only took us five days to complete. I’ve pushed 670.02 linear feet in one day (beating the previous company record of 640 feet) and I have a personal record of pushing 173 feet. Additionally, Vertek’s Track Rig allows us to safely operate in a climate-controlled cab anytime of the year. CPT really is the best bang for the buck.
What has your experience been interacting with Vertek service/support?
We have been pleased with Vertek support from the start. We even received amazing support several years back from a former Vertek employee. When we had an issue, we text the engineer and while he told us he no longer worked with Vertek, he gave us a call and helped us get up and running again.
